- Set cable tower rack to lowest setting.
- Attach ankle strap weight rack.
- Set weight to 20% of body weight for beginners.
- Sit on the floor and attach strap to mid-foot without cable tension.
- While seated, inch backwards, until weight stack lifts.
- Lie flat on your back.
- Pull knees towards chest until hamstrings cover calves. Extend legs back out in a controlled motion. Do 3 sets of 15-20 reps.
- Aim for this exercise twice a week.
- Stretch hip flexors after the workout. Often, hamstrings are not only too weak, but also too short!
